This Tuesday we had Mr. Timon show us how electricity works.We had to use batteries to show us positive and negative then we used wire to transfer the energy to a lightbulb. (Written by Wally) :)

Today for Physical Education we did Archery. Most of us hit the target while some of us missed (mostly me) but either way it was really fun and entertaining but not everyone can be Katniss Everdeen. (Written by Wally) :)
Today some of us worked on our terracotta pots. After we finished painting the pots we transplanted our plants. In the afternoon we had a bit of time to work on our stereotype project with smoovie.
Today we worked on our stereotype storyboard, we are using the iPads for this project. We are working with "smoovie",creating mini videos. Some are using fimo, others are drawing and the rest are acting. (Written by Hannah)
Today we transferred our nasturtium plants into a bigger pot. We painted our terracotta pots so they can continue growing. At the end of the year we will be able to bring the nasturtium plant home. (Written by Hannah)
Today we debated our book club
Books. In total there were five books. The books were all about children in tough situations. The book Iqbal won. (Written by Hannah) These were our judges.

Today we did a number of things with our plants...we thinned our broccoli and cauliflower, planted our lettuce and transplanted one nasturtium!
The Monkeys are asked to bring in a terracotta pot (for Monday) to paint and transplant their very own nasturtium that they will bring home at the end of the school year. We have begun studying the country of Haiti. On May 15th, our school will have a special day where all classes present their learning about a French speaking country they have studied.
Our new theme for the term is Being A Global Citizen. The photo above shows what the students know at the beginning of our unit together.
