We are currently working on stereotypes. Some of the work will be completed as homework (watching some sort of media), finding and reading a book that counteracts stereotypes, finding or taking a photo of a stereotype and finding definitions to create a Wordle. We are also working at school. Check out our project at:
Stereotypes.weebly.com Here are the recent pieces of art that were completed by some of our class. The medium used was watercolour paints. This time, band students were not able to do this project.
In Science we are studying biodiversity. A couple weeks ago, we watched videos to access our background knowledge and gain a better sense of what biodiversity means.
Today we talked about the big ideas we need to learn together on this topic. We perused books to help us find a topic that we would like to learn more about. We need to think like a scientist and pose an inquiry question for our research. Tonight the "Monkeys" will talk to you about their question. Please question them on what it is they want to know and how they will find their information. We have reading buddies every Friday for 30 minutes with Madame Line's class. Once a month we get to play centers and everyone is excited!!! It's a good reminder that even though most grade 6 & 7 students are my height, they are still very much kids!
We celebrated another birthday today! We appreciate and enjoy all the goodies thta we have shared on these special occasions.
Did you know that all students get to wear this special birthday hat on their birthday? We have been doing our English novel projects this week. All projects and presentations have been interesting and well prepared. Here we are playing some of the many games that were created. We thank all family members for helping out with presentations!
Today we sorted vocabulary words for our new guided reading books. We will be learning about North American and South American countries such as Costa Rica, Peru, Mexico, Brezil and the United States.
