We completed a math fraction hunt using words today and then created our own. We will be trying them out in class tomorrow.
For our Ancient Greece theme, we each created amphora based on old photos that we found on the internet.

We are working on our understanding of fractions. To help us understand we are playing with fractions and using manipulatives. A few photos of our Greek Myghs that we read and are acting out. There were some good laughs! Yikes! I forgot to update the blog in a few days-sorry! We have been working on a video about the history of the Olympics. It is a group project and we hope that we can pull it off. We are also learning about the country of Greece. We did some learning today about the geography of Greece. We read the information individually, shared our understanding with a group, shared with a partner and summarized the key ideas. We should now be close to experts... We have started reading about Greek gods and goddesses. It if fun! We will be putting something together to show all of you (parents) what we have learned. Start looking for a Greek recipe because we will be having a Greek feast sometime at the beginning of March! We have already started working on our next theme-Ancient Greece and the Olympics. We will be creating a class video about the origins of the Olympics and sharing it to the school on February 20. And we were working hard at our new problem of the week! |
